By accessing our website or engaging our in-home care services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services. Caring Comfort at Home Services operates in Alberta and adheres to applicable provincial standards for non-medical home care.

1. Services Provided

Caring Comfort at Home Services provides non-medical in-home care including personal care, companionship, meal preparation, medication reminders, mobility assistance, respite care, dementia support, and overnight care. We do not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, nursing services, or emergency response. All caregivers meet or exceed Alberta Health Care Aide training standards and best practices for non-medical support.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older (or have legal guardian consent) to engage our services or use our website for booking purposes.

3. Care Plans & Scheduling

• Care plans are customized following a free consultation and assessment.
• Schedules are agreed upon in advance; changes require reasonable notice.
• We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service if it poses safety risks, exceeds our non-medical scope, or violates these Terms.

4. Payment & Billing

• Services are charged at the agreed hourly rate (starting at $35/hour + GST).
• Payment is due upon receipt of invoice unless otherwise arranged.
• Late payments may incur fees; repeated late payments may result in service suspension.
• Cancellation with less than 48 hours notice may incur a total charge for scheduled hours.
• For clients approved under the Client Directed Home Care Initiative (CDHCI) program, we can bill Alberta Blue Cross directly for eligible services.

5. Caregiver Matching & Substitution

We carefully match caregivers to clients based on needs, personality, and qualifications. We reserve the right to substitute caregivers when necessary for continuity of care.

6. Liability & Limitations

• We carry comprehensive liability insurance and perform thorough caregiver screening (including criminal record and vulnerable sector checks).
• We are not liable for indirect damages, loss, or injury beyond our reasonable control.
• Clients are responsible for maintaining a safe home environment, disclosing relevant health information, and informing us of changes in care needs.
• Our services are non-medical; clients remain responsible for medical decisions and oversight from licensed healthcare providers.

7. Website Use

• Content on this website is for informational purposes only and not medical advice.
• You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify website content without permission.
• We may update or discontinue website features at any time.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate services with reasonable notice. We may terminate immediately for breach of these Terms, safety concerns, non-payment, or if care needs exceed our non-medical scope.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of our services or website constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
